Before you start
Maintenance Manage plus VMS. The service type must be active and belong to this operator. Inspecting linked bookings also needs Bookings access.
- An approved service type and the vehicles’ intended inspection intervals already exist. This lesson uses those settings; it does not prescribe maintenance intervals.
- Start with one fictional coach and a short horizon; use multiple coaches only for a clearly labelled queued-result example.
Choose the service type
Open Schedule a series. Choose the approved Service type, then set the Start date. The chosen type controls recurrence; safety-inspection scheduling uses each vehicle’s configured inspection interval. Check those settings with your maintenance lead first.
Check the screen for: Service type and Start date.
Choose the vehicles and repeat horizon
Tick only the vehicles you intend to schedule. Leave Repeat on for a series and enter the until date. Turning Repeat off creates a single planned service per vehicle.
Check the screen for: Vehicles, Repeat and …until.
Read the preview before confirming
Select Preview. Check the service type, vehicle count and number of new services. Read any past-date or limit warning. Nothing is saved at this stage; go back to the form if the selection is wrong.
Check the screen for: Preview summary, per-vehicle counts and warnings.
Confirm and wait for the records
Use Confirm and schedule when the preview is right. One vehicle is scheduled immediately; a multi-vehicle request may be queued. Wait for the planned records to appear before treating the schedule as complete.
Check the screen for: Confirm & schedule and actual result message.
Check dates and clashes
On the fleet planner, review the new dates for the selected vehicle. Open Clashes to find planned off-road work overlapping a booking. Review the linked job with the office and agree a suitable change; a warning does not resolve the clash.
Check the screen for: New schedule entries and Clashes.
Check it worked
- The result is the intended set of planned services on the right vehicles and dates, with any booking clash identified for action. A schedule is not a record of completed maintenance.
